Nurses and Techs Day

The 6th Annual Nurses and Techs Day, sponsored by the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the University of Utah School of Medicine, will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Grand Summit Hotel and Conference Center, The Canyons, Park City, Utah.

The provisional schedule for the day is as follows:

  • 8:00-10:30              Hands-On Session
  • 10:30-11:00             Break
  • 11:00-11:30             Quality care in the Endoscopy lab  –   Dr. Cohen
  • 11:30-12:00             New Toys for the Endo Lab  -  Dr. Jajoo
  • 12:00-1:00               Lunch
  • 1:00-1:30                 Electrosurgical Generators: Shocking!  – Dr. Carr-Locke
  • 1:30-2:00                 Role of Nurses and Techs in the ERCP suite  -  Dr. Wilcox
  • 2:00-2:30                 Fecal Transplant: UGH  -  Dr. Boynton
  • 2:30-4:00                 Nurses and Techs Open Forum and Family Feud

Application for CEUs is in process

Registration is $100 for the Nurses and Techs Day. If you wish to attend the full Therapeutic Endoscopy Course, which runs from Friday, March 28th – Sunday, March 30, 2014 the registration is $195. Fall Conference

Our Fall Conference will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2014 at the New Park Hotel in Park City, Utah. Join your colleagues: come to the conference to learn the latest information in gastroenterology practice.

This educational activity has been submitted to the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. for approval of contact hours.  The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates, Inc. is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Colon Cancer Dinner Lecture

March 24th, 2013

We have made arrangements for a dinner lecture on May 15, 2014 at 6:30 pm in the Doty Education Center Auditorium (building 6) at IMC. The speaker will be announced soon. If you have any suggestions for a speaker please contact us.

This free dinner must be registered for in advance by Monday April 28th, 2014 by emailing and giving the names of those who will be attending.



BUNS UP 2014!!

We are extremely excited to announce the Mountain West Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates will host a 5K Walk/Run for Colon Cancer awareness that will take place Saturday March 29th, 2014, 9am at Sugarhouse Park.   Everyone is invited to attend. You can register as an individual or as a team. There will be information on colon cancer, prevention and screening.  This event is to make all aware of the possibility of colon cancer affecting their lives in some way.

Every 3 minutes someone in the US is diagnosed with colon cancer, and every 10 minutes, someone dies due to colon cancer! We want to eliminate deaths due to this preventable problem. So join us if you can!
